Tokorozawa Lily Garden

 

If you like large prominent and colorful flower bulbs of lily and the charming fragrance make you happy then must visit Saitama's Tokorozawa Lily Garden.

Saitama Prefecture is located right next to Tokyo. Although a handful of places are well known among foreign tourists, I personally think that there is a lot to see in all the prefectures of this country, one of which is this Saitama. 

This magnificent flower garden can be reached in just 50 minutes by train from Tokyo and only 3-4 minutes away from Seibukyujo-mae station. Although this place is famous in Japan for one more reason. The Metball Dome baseball stadium just outside the station is the home of the Seibu Lions baseball team. This place is very crowded on game days.

One such day we went to visit this garden. The moment we left the crowded station area or the bustling stadium and entered the garden, the surrounding environment changed drastically.

Thousands of colorful flowers blooming beneath the shade of the giant trees and the flowery plants stretch like never-ending lines. There are so many types of lilies you can see in this garden like elegant white lilies or super exotic stargazers or both light and dark dotted ones too.

About 450,000 lilies of about 50 species can be seen blooming in the Tokorozawa Lily Garden.

During this early summer, flowers are in full bloom and you can see rows of flowers swaying in the wind across an entire hillside.

Large colorful butterflies can be seen roaming around, just as the bees come and go on the flowers.

Garden food stalls, flower information Centre (Lily a la carte), and flower shops are available in the garden area. Don’t forget to taste their special lily root Tempura which is quite delicious. A few hours of weekend break in such a quiet and serene environment would be enough to charge you up for the next hectic week.

From Ikebukuro>(via. Ikebukuro Line) Nishi-Tokorozawa Statio>(via Sayama Line) Seibukyujo-Mae Station-

The Garden is approximately 3 minutes on foot from Seibukyujo-mae st.
